I know not everybody is a morning person. Or so they think. It is logically obvious that the person who gets up earlier has a head start on you for that day. A one hour head start looks insignificant on that day but one hour every day for one week is seven hours. That’s 30 hours in a month and 365 hours in a year.
Do you want a quick tip on how to win at life. It is by winning the day in the morning. By waking up at 5 AM.
Benefits for waking at 5 AM
- You go to bed sooner. This is a good thing. This means that you still get a good night’s sleep. By going to bed sooner, you are avoiding some consumption-based nightly addictions. We have all done this. Social media, Netflix and Chill or taking coffee late in the night.
- You will have time for personal development and progress toward goals. When did you last read a whole book and finished it? Life is so busy with work, commute, and the media, we hardly have enough time to learn and develop our skills. Waking up early gives you a shot at studying and improving your life.
- You will get into a peak state.
If you wake up every day at 5AM and commit yourself to learning, growth and making progress, you’ll start to feel a heightened state of mind. These are “peak moments“.

haaha. You know what? Catching the next series is not such a bad thing. The idea is to gracefully get into work-mode. It sometimes takes a while to get there. So if Netflix is what gets you there? Be my guest.
